Socio Economic Survey

A socioeconomic survey of 5724 households, across 31 villages abutting this land, was undertaken in the latter half of 2010.1127 acres of land have been acquired for industrialisation in Gummidipoondi thaluk of Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu. The survey sought to map out social and economic indicators that could serve as a baseline to be used by various stakeholders – the local population, the government, industry and members of civil society to possibly shape development interventions and action.
